NonTraditional Marketing Mash by Omarr Cantú

Non-Traditional Marketing Guru. Social Media Addict. Ad Man. Movie Buff. Live Music Lover. Cigar Aficionado.

Traditional Marketing is Dead. Given this is a bold statement, but it is my belief that with a growing generation of Americans that have become desensitized by the constant bombardment of media the only way to get recognized is by taking a non-traditional approach.

Non-Traditional is the future of the industry, and that's where I come in. I love non-traditional marketing and often come across many original (and not so original) ideas during my travels out in the field. The disciplines discussed will all fall under non-traditional marketing but will include event marketing, field marketing, street marketing, and of course guerrilla marketing. This is a mash of cool ideas that catch my eye that I thought would be worthy to share with you. Enjoy the mash and don't forget to wash your hands.

State Farm Experiential Marketing at Whataburger Field - Corpus Christi

During my travels while doing a little street marketing in South Texas at the Corpus Christi Hooks game at Whataburger Field I came across a nice little experiential set up for a local branch of State Farm Insurance. This was not a corporate experiential set up, but a co-op style of set up, most likely sponsored by several different State Farm agents.  It was an effective little set up and overall did a great job of branding their entrance sponsorship at the Hooks Game. As you can see there was quite a bit of activity around the 20'x20' space. There were several other brands at the event including Freebirds World Burrito and Got Milk that was executed by New Jersey experiential marketing giant Synergy Events

HEB Grocery Store Monster Energy Drink Promo

Thought this was a really out of the ordinary promotion. Seems to be a similar pairing as Mountain Dew and Doritos obviously targeted to younger males.
