NonTraditional Marketing Mash by Omarr Cantú

Non-Traditional Marketing Guru. Social Media Addict. Ad Man. Movie Buff. Live Music Lover. Cigar Aficionado.

Traditional Marketing is Dead. Given this is a bold statement, but it is my belief that with a growing generation of Americans that have become desensitized by the constant bombardment of media the only way to get recognized is by taking a non-traditional approach.

Non-Traditional is the future of the industry, and that's where I come in. I love non-traditional marketing and often come across many original (and not so original) ideas during my travels out in the field. The disciplines discussed will all fall under non-traditional marketing but will include event marketing, field marketing, street marketing, and of course guerrilla marketing. This is a mash of cool ideas that catch my eye that I thought would be worthy to share with you. Enjoy the mash and don't forget to wash your hands.

@Overstock's Overstocktober Eight Things You Didn't Know About Beer

This was from a cunning beer page that Overstock.com put together to that mixed the 8 things lesson intermittently throughout their list of beer products. It was in the middle of Overstock's normal e-blast. (Screenshot Below) The original banner with a photo of the beer mug got the person interested in beer (me) to click on it and go to this splash page in hopes that I am a brew-cionado and that my collection was not complete. Very smart. Anyway, here is the complete list without the products. Just good facts.

How NOT to Feed a Goat. Trip to the Austin Zoo

This started out as an impromptu, playful video as a I was feeding the goats that went terribly wrong. Austin Zoo is small, non-profit zoo in the hill country of Texas that serves as a rescue and rehabilitation center for all types of exotic animals from prairie dogs to lions to tigers to bears. We had a really awesome time and it was only $8 bucks to get in. Check it out!

Cheers,
